Philippine School for Maritime & Medical Access, INC., started its humble beginnings as a sole proprietorship in year 1994 and eventually converted into corporation in 7th July 2000. It started its operation in Paco, Manila, where most of the target clients are located. It was put up by individuals who had wide teaching and managing experience in training centers and manning agencies. Most of the incorporators are deck and engine officers who have expertise in their own field. Generally, programs of PSMMA are geared for sea based and land based workers who wish to upgrade their skills and work in overseas shipping companies. Due to high demands of workers onboard international shipping vessels PSMMA offered additional courses to address the needs of the market. In the year May 2008 PSMMA opened its first Maritime and HRM school in Novaliches , Quezon City offering Maritime and Hospitality and Restaurant Management course accredited in TESDA and MARINA.
